Ryo Shimamoto, a professional Taiko (Japanese drum) performer and teacher, based in Wakayama, Japan. When not performing, he connects with students and taiko groups around the world to share his expertise.
The theme of the performance is 結(Yui), an expression of connection, the ties between, or a knot. Yamabiko Taiko celebrates the experiences between teacher and student, Japan and Canada, and the songs that bring us together.
