4 Class Series | Mondays, April 15th - May 6th | 5:00pm - 6:30pm | $100
Studio #110 - Paint Studio at the Rotary Centre for the Arts
Instructor: Erin Scott
Ages: 11+

Do you journal on the regular? Have a blog or discord only your closest friends know about? What about being a closet poem writer? Ever dreamt about making a graphic novel, or screenplay for your own movie? Join writer Erin Scott to discover the wonders of the written word across multiple forms and ignite your inner voice.

Together, and in a safe and inclusive space, we will look at different genres of writing: poetry, fiction, graphic novels, scripts, and spoken word. Each class will focus on one of these genres, provide focused writing time through fun and weird prompts, and will end with sharing and reflecting on how to edit and improve your works in progress. Writing is an open invitation to connect with your imagination, interact with the world around you, and learn how to express yourself in a variety of tones, forms, and styles. No experience needed! This series will start at the beginning of a writing life and inspire you to keep going on your journey of self-expression.

Erin Scott (she/they) is a writer, performer, and interdisciplinary artist. They have published two chapbooks, two spoken word albums, and won a number of literary and performance awards from across Canada. She loves cats, movies, chocolate, and laughter. Erin has four kiddos, and regularly teaches poetry and performance in middle schools across Kelowna. They are so excited to share writing tips and tricks and to have fun during the Youth Writers Club!
