Immerse yourself into the process of encaustic painting! With instructor Megan MacDonald, learn to combine layers of molten beeswax and pigments and fuse the layers together with heat to create one-of-a-kind, luminous, depth-filled paintings. The surface of the encaustic painting can be built up, scraped back, drawn on, and carved into. The possibilities are endless.

Materials for the first class will be supplied. Students will then be given an Opus coupon and can purchase materials for the rest of the series at Opus at a discount.

Materials:
1-2lbs encaustic medium (jacquard or R&F)
2-3 substrates (cradle boards, encaustic board or Claybord)
Assorted R&F Pigment Sticks

Optional materials:
R&F or Encaustiko’s encaustic paints
Mark making tools

Additional materials will be supplied in class.

This workshop runs Thursdays from April 14–May 5. A single registration is $350, and includes all four classes in the series.
