In this workshop, Candace Thayer-Coe introduces you to the traditional Japanese art of suminagashi, which uses ink floated on water to create striking multi-colour prints. By controlling the floating pigments through the viscosity and surface tension of the water, while cooperating with the elements of nature, the artist creates images suggestive of landscapes, the movement of clouds in the sky, the flowing motion of wind-blown cloth and slowly running streams coursing through fields.

Registration for this workshop is $65 (plus GST). The workshop runs from 1:00-5:00 PM on Saturday, March 12, 2022.

Please note that masks are mandatory at all times throughout the RCA, including when taking classes in the Harmony Honda Painting and Drawing Studio. Masks may only be removed temporarily, when patrons are actively eating or drinking.
